Friday 26th June 2015, a day that will forever be remembered in history. Before the news was announced, I would remember this day as a “four month countdown” to my birthday, but now I will remember this historic day as a massive stand against homophobia.
America has finally legalised same-sex marriages! Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders have come a long way.
It has never been easy for a person to live life as a homosexual, transgender etc. Because of the constant prejudice, hatred and discrimination that destroyed any chances of become social accepted.
But things like the sexual revolution, the LGBT, and the mass media in the 21st century have encouraged people not to be scared of “coming out” and live life freely. The fact that America, one of the most influential countries in the world in terms of “political power”, has approved same-sex marriage, along side the UK, France and the Netherlands, has enforce that equality everyone is seeking.
Facebook has now allowed people to filter their display picture into the colours of the LGBT movement via https://facebook.com/celebratepride , to show the support for the legalisation of same-sex marriage in America. So it’s only right to show mine as I am finishing this post💕. Love don’t discriminate✌
